The Beef Education Center is located on 120 acres at NCSU’s Lake Wheeler Road Field Laboratory and accommodates the teaching and beef cattle handling requirements for the NCSU Department of Animal Sciences Beef Program. The facility is home to the University’s cattle herd. The main components of the new facility are the classroom/office building and the animal barn/arena. To encourage real-life, hands-on learning experiences, the two structures are connected by covered walkways. Additionally, there is a commodities/storage shed, remote animal working area, fenced pastures, and corrals and feeders.
